The National Weather Service has confirms that six tornadoes touched down.


Update 2012/06/02
-More than a dozen Harford County homes were damaged in the storm. Three people reported to be injured.
-The worst damage reported to the 200 block of Belair Road in the area of Harford Road and Route 152.
-Damage in Harford County is expected to exceed $1 million.
-About 6,900Baltimore Gas and Electric Co.customers remained without power early Saturday.
-Tornado was down at 7:19 p.m. Friday near Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

-Road closed / Ramp from Caton Avenue to NB I-95 closed for standing water.
-Carroll & Baltimore County under tornado watch next couple minutes / storm moving faster 50 MPH NE

Tornado in Maryland

-Atleast four reported to be injured.
-The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down at BWI-Marshall Airport at 7:19 p.m. on Friday. Emergency officials in Queen Anne’s County also confirm that a tornado touched down along Route 301 in Centreville.
-Power outage reported in Harford and Howard Counties. Howard County- 6,000 outages, Baltimore County -6,000 outages and more than 2,000 in Harford County.
-Flooding reported in Montgomery and Carroll counties.
-Weather forecast:
Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 75. West wind between 10 and 15 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 57. West wind between 6 and 9 mph.


Tornado warning for Loudoun County, Virginia
-Tornado warning issued for Western Montgomery County in Central Maryland and Eastern Loudoun county in Northern Virginia.
-National weather service doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Brambleto.
-Tornado message was issued by the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, Maryland (MD).
-The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Eastern Frederick, Northern Montgomery, Southern Carroll and Northwestern Howard counties.
-Weather Forecast: Showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with heavy rain. Low around 61. South wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

The Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., tornado outbreak of 2001 was the most dramatic recent tornado event to directly affect the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area in the United States. The outbreak occurred on September 24, 2001, and was responsible for two deaths and 57 injuries.
