Extreme Landslide in eastern Uganda
-Thirty people killed in a landslide in eastern Uganda on the slopes of Mount Elgon.
-Heavy rain triggered a mudslide in Uganda. Still 109 people reported to be missing (landslide video above).
-Following Uganda Red Cross officials, nine people had been taken to hospital with injuries.
-At least 300 people lived in the affected villages.
-Around 400,000 people from the 6 districts of Bududa Mbale, Sironko, Manafwa, Kapchorwa and Bukwo are going to be shifted to Kiryandongo and other areas.
-The affected area lies in Bududa district on mount Elgon close to the Kenyan border.
-At least 100 people were killed in deadly landslide which occurred in the district of Bududa in eastern Uganda on 1 March 2010. The landslide at that time struck villages on the slopes of Mount Elgon, same area as now, including Nameti, Kubewo, and Nankobe.
-Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East Africa.
