Recent Natural Disasters

• Heavy storms in Oklahoma
  -Heavy storms caused damage in several places including Oklahoma City. Three people reported to be injured.
  -A number of supercell thunderstorms erupted across north and central Oklahoma.
  -Severe weather is expected across the region today too with a moderate risk of storms centered on Oklahoma.

  State of emergency declared for 35 counties. The counties included in the declaration are Alfalfa, Blaine, Bryan, Caddo, Canadian, Cleveland, Comanche, Cotton, Creek, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Garfield, Garvin, Grady, Grant, Harper, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Latimer, Lincoln, Logan, Love, Major, McClain, Oklahoma, Okmulgee, Pittsburg, Pottawatomie, Stephens, Tillman, Tulsa, Washita, Woods and Woodward.

  -A woman rescued by firefighters at SW 44 and S Walker Avenue.
  -Power outage in 30,000 customers in central Oklahoma.
  -Below is a video of the large hail in Oklahoma City from the Associated Press.
  
• Landslide in Kezilesu Kirgiz, China
  -Three people died in a landslide in Kezilesu Kirgiz autonomous prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region of China.
  -All three are workers of a mining company.
  -Traffic and telecommunication services were also affected which was resumed wednesday morning.
  -Heavy rainfall caused the cancellation of 18 flights in Sanxia Airport of Hubei (Yichang city).

• M 4.8 moderate earthquake in Central Peru (@ 56 km depth) with epicenter located 186 km ESE of Huanuco. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt around the epicenter area.

• M 5.7 strong earthquake in Eastern Kazakhstan (@ 25 km depth) with epicenter located 148 km E of Almaty. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Kegen,Tyup, Tuergen, Karakol, Yesik and Talghar.Just a weak shaking will have felt by the people of Almaty, Zharkent, Burunday, Kapchagai, Tekeli, Bişkek and Talğar of Kazakhstan.

• M 4.3 light shallow earthquake in Taiwan (@ 7 km depth) with epicenter located 27 km NW Yungkang. Weak shaking will have felt as far as Kaohsiung.

• M 4.9 moderate shallow earthquake in Southern Iran (@ 28 km depth) with epicenter located 38 km SW of Firuzabad. Light to weak shaking will have felt as far as Shiraz and Jahrom, Iran.

• M 3.3 minor earthquake in Island of Hawaii, Hawaii (@ 11 km depth) with epicenter located 17 km S from Volcano. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Fern Forest, Eden Roc, Pahoa, Keaau and Hilo.

• M 4.0 light shallow earthquake in Channel Islands Region, California with epicenter located 48 km SSW from Malibu. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, Westwood, Channel Islands Beach, Culver City, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Long Beach, North Glendale, Santa Ana and Anaheim. Among these Los Angeles is the most populous city in the state of California, and the second most populous in the United States, after New York City.

  -Light shaking was felt for "just a couple of seconds" at the National Weather Service's Oxnard office.
  -No any damage or injury report received by The Los Angeles Fire Department .
• M 3.6 minor earthquake in Southern Alaska (@ 67 km depth) with epicenter located 28 km N from Beluga. Weak shaking will have felt by the people of Susitna, Tyonek and Anchorage.

• M 4.4 light earthquake in Colombia (@ 157 km depth) with epicenter located 50 km WSW of Tunja. Weak shaking will have felt as far as Bogota.

Volcanic Activity List

• Colombia/Nevado del Ruiz volcano recent volcanic activity
  -Around 500 people evacuated after the Nevado del Ruiz volcano spewed ashes.
  -Several flights reported to be suspended at four different airports. Airports in Manizales, Pereira, Armenia and Cartago were affected.
  -A 1985 eruption by Nevado del Ruiz buried the town of Armero in a wall of mud, killing about 25 000 people.

Flooding List

• Flooding in New Hampshire, USA
  -Heavy rainstorm closed parts of roads in southwestern New Hampshire.
  -Flooding affect Keene, Alstead, Surry and Westmoreland area. Several roads located in communities north of Keene reported to be washed away.

Tropical Cyclone List

• Tropical depression Beryl
  -As 15:00 UTC, Beryl is located 10 km W of Wilmington North Carolina and 255 km WSW of Cape Hatteras North Carolina.
  -Dangerous surf conditions including rip currents are possible along the coast of North Carolina through today.
  -Beryl is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 2 to 4 inches...with isolated maximum amounts of 6 inches in eastern North Carolina and extreme southeastern Virginia. Click for detail update report on Beryl.

• Earthquake rumors in Guwahati, India
  -The earthquake rumor was viral when an astrologers, who also publishes almanac Kalpurush in Assamese claimed possibilities of three major earthquakes in coming days through a local television channel. One of the earthquake was predicted to hit Assam around 4 P.M. today.

• Hailstorm in Cotes-de-Provence and Coteaux-Varois vineyards, France
  -Haistorms affected areas were Pignans, Carnoules, Flassans-sur-Issole, Carcès, Besse-sur-Issole, Brignoles, Correns, Cotignac and Le Val et Montfort-sur-Argens in the central Var.
  -Local mayors have asked for a state of natural catastrophe to be declared.
• Storms in Apennine range, Italy
  -Some local storms are reported being developed along much of the Italian Apennine range.
  -Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio interior, Umbria and Campania areas of Italy are expected to hit by thunderstorms.
