- Flooding in Afghanistan
-At least 19 reported to be killed and 60 are still missing in flooding disaster in northern Afghanistan.
-Around 1,000 houses reported to be destroyed. Several houses flooded in capital city of Sar-e-Pul.
-3,000 animals killed and 1,000 hectares of farm land destroyed in Taloqan and six other districts.
-According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance, the water rose to 1.5 meters yesterday (Saturday) during the peak of the flooding.
-21 out of 34 provinces in Afghanistan are vulnerable to floods.
-About a month ago, flooding in Balkh, Afghanistan killed 16 people. - Major earthquake near Bologna, Italy
-M 5.9 very strong earthquake shakes Bologna, Italy at 04:03 local time. The quake's epicenter was just 36 km NNW of Bologna, Italy. Bologna is the principal city (capital) of the Emilia-Romagna Region in Northern Italy.
-Bolonga quake was initially registered at magnitude 6.3.
-Earthquake tremor was felt even in parts of Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and France.

10:21 UTC (local time Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 03:21 AM @ epicenter) - M 6.0 strong shallow sea quake in Honshu, Japan (@ 10 km depth) today with epicenter located 112 km E Miyako. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Miyako and Yamada. Weak shaking will have felt Sendai, Aomori, Yamagata, Fukushima and Kamaishi.
07:19 UTC (local time Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 05:19 PM @ epicenter) - M 4.4 light earthquake in Tarapaca, Chile (@ 90 km depth) with epicenter located 128 km E of Iquique. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Iquique.
06:44 UTC (local time Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 02:44 AM @ epicenter) - M 4.8 moderate very shallow earthquake near Christchurch, New Zealand (@ 10 km depth). Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Christchurch and Amberley.
