Recent World Disasters
- Flooding in South Louisiana, USA (Under "Natural Disaster in USA")
-State of emergency declared in South Louisiana (Lafayette, Acadia, St. Landry and St. Martin)
-Wildlife crews rescued 77 people from flooded areas in Carencro
-16 middle school students were safely removed from a bus stranded in the water
-Most of the thunderstorms in the New Orleans area were south of the city
-National Weather Service spokesman Joe Rua in Lake Charles says radar indicated up to 15 inches of rainfall by noon Monday in Acadiana
-Carencro Community Center, a shelter was opened which had up to 50 people there by early evening

- Flash flood in Northern Chile
-About 300 people evacuated from Valley of Azapa after flooding of the Rio San Jose in the town of Arica
-Heavy rainfall with flooding knocked down bridges and blocked the rail line to neighboring Peru
-Red Alert is declared for the Province of Magallanes. Also for the Province of Tamarugal
-1,500 customers in Punta Arenas coastal remained without power
-The classes in the town of Punta Arenas are suspended
