M 5.6 very strong earthquake near the west Coast of Honshu, Japan (Sado Island) today with epicenter located 40 km SW Ryotsu (@ 10 km depth). About 2,000 people will have felt very strong shaking of MMI VI. People of Ryotsu, Yoshida, Tsubame, Nagaoka and Sanjo will have felt moderate shaking of MMI V. Light shaking will have experienced in Maki, Niigata and Toyama region
