March 05, 2012 earthquake in Haryana - Delhi Region, India (Today)


UPDATE

-Media reports of some houses developing cracks in Barkot area, place near to epicenter. Barkot is a town and a nagar panchayat in Uttarkashi District in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Luckily it is least populated area. NO MAJOR DAMAGE REPORTED
 -The people of Chandigarh reacted immediately after the tremor. Flood of "Felt Reports" (below) also proves it. People in Yamuna Valley area of Uttarakhand were much panicked
-Felt even in Capital city, Delhi (light to weak). Remember Delhi is among thirty important cities in the country that fall into high risk seismic zone while Srinagar is on top.

No detail report obtained. Don't know why the medias aren't reporting about this quake? Now its morning and hope people will themselves report about their experiences regarding this earthquake in North India
Don't expect any major damage but may have certainly caused minor to light damage around epicenter area. Since the people from Chandigarh and Deharadun are mentioning of experiencing moderate shaking (but expect light), CERTAIN DAMAGE MUST BE AROUND EPICENTER AREA

Sandeep sharma from Baddi himanchal pradesh: At 00,59 hrs on 10/2/2012 felt the earth quake. Talked about this with many people but no body was knowing about it.
Mahender singh from Panchkula: I think it was for 10 second.my door was vibrating.after these my bed vibrate strongly for 3 second. then i feel it and left my room and go away out side.
Shikha jafra from Chandigarh:i was almost half asleep in my bed and suddenly my bed started shaking sooo hard.. but just for a matter of a few seconds.. 2 or 3 seconds .. i wasn't even sure if its a quake.. probably because i was half asleep.. in the morning i got to know that it really was a quake.. from my friends and saw in the news

Again the rumor has spread of earthquake of M 6.8 felt in North India. It was in the earlier case too, when it was felt in Capital New Delhi and One in Nepal/Sikkim border BUT M 6.8 earthquake at such depth is quite dangerous, Personally DON'T EXPECT EARTHQUAKE WITH SUCH LARGE MAGNITUDE

It will have well felt in North India. The intensity is enough to get felt as far as capital New Delhi. Since the time is midnight, most people will crawl the sites/blog in the morning BUT it makes people awake around epicenter

Indian seismological center mentions M 5.0 @ 10 km depth in Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand. It mentions intensity as MODERATE. It means there is less chance of any major damage


M 5.1 moderate shallow earthquake stuck today in Uttaranchal, India (Madheso, Himachal Pradesh) with epicenter located 78 km NNE of Dehra Dun, Uttaranchal, India (@ 26 km depth). Moderate shaking of MMI V will have felt above epicenter. People in Deharadun, Jubbal, Chandigarh and other reacted immediately after the quake.

  2. it is also felt in barmana, bilaspur, himachal pardesh.for a moment.it's light.but i was normal because god is felt everywhere through its naturality.as i felt one can hardly beable to do anythings, if it has to do anything. i wish godly secuirity to all the living and non living things.
