Damage reported in schools in Kochetova. Aftershocks still recorded

According to the emergency department of Khakassia, the magnitude was 6.8, the epicenter was located in Tuva. Tremors were felt in the power plant. At the moment the station is operating normally, no malfunctions were observed.

USGS has revised the magnitude of this Russian earthquake as M 6.7 @ 11.7 km depth with Earthquake Shaking Alert Level still pending!

Idrinskoye: шаталось всё, что только могло шататься! высокий шкаф чуть было не упал. толчки быстро нарастали, продержались на каком то уровне и плавно затухли. трясло около минуты. только рыбы в аквариуме засуетились, а остальные - спокойно перенесли!
Irkutsk: Средний силы толчок, качалась люстра и двигались мелкие предметы, раскачивалась вода в стакане, дрожали стекла и окна, а также хрустальная посуда.
Кот царапался и бегал по квартире, голуби за окном проявляли беспокойство, летали кругами и дрались между собой.
Землетрясение длилось 5 минут с 15:29 - 15:34 по местному времени.

Light to weak shaking is experienced in 1000+ km radius. It was also felt by citizens of the republic of Khakassia.

If present data by USGS is followed (still pending), this Siberian earthquake is under violent category. VERY HEAVY DAMAGE IS CONFIRMED

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake 172 km southeast of this one struck Mongolia on December 27, 1991 (UTC), with estimated population exposures of 13,000 at intensity V and 98,000 at intensity IV, with no reported fatalities

Epicenter Overview: The Tyva Republic or Tuva (Russian: Тува́), is a federal subject of Russia (a republic). It lies in the geographical center of Asia, in southern Siberia. The republic borders with the Altai Republic, the Republic of Khakassia, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Irkutsk Oblast, and the Republic of Buryatia in Russia and with Mongolia to the south. Its capital is the city of Kyzyl (землетрясение России)
Kyzyl is located where the Yenisei River meets the Maly Yenisey River to form the Verkhny Yenisey. The climate of Kyzyl is humid continental (Koppen Dfb) bordering on a semi-arid climate, with warm summers and severely cold winters source wikipedia (Тува землетрясение, 26 февраля 2012 г.)

  1. The most important distance is to Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sayano%E2%80%93Shushenskaya_Dam)
    Is's 300 KM FROM THE EPICENTER.
    In case of crashing there will be hundreds of thousand dead swimmers. This dam is not supposed to be built there!!! IT's the most seismically active region in Siberia!! But USSR built it just to show their power and not thinking about the bomb they prepared for future generation!!!
