• M 5.6 very strong earthquake near the west Coast of Honshu, Japan (Sado Island) with epicenter located 40 km SW Ryotsu (@ 10 km depth). About 2,000 people will have felt very strong shaking of MMI VI. People of Ryotsu, Yoshida, Tsubame, Nagaoka and Sanjo will have felt moderate shaking of MMI V. • M 5.6 strong earthquake in Ecuador (@ 70 km depth) with epicenter located 65 km ESE of Esmeraldas, Ecuador. More than 7,149,000 people will have felt light shaking of MMI IV. People of Rosa Zarate, San Lorenzo de Esmeraldas, Valdez, Propicia, Muisne and Santo Domingo de los Colorados will have felt light shaking. The populated area Quito is 125 km far where the tremor will have felt well. People in Manta, Pasto, Ambato and Portoviejo will have felt weak shaking.

  Quito: There's usually earthquakes around here, but most of them don't last for more than 5 - 10 seconds. This one lasted about 30 seconds and it was moderate at beginning, strong after 7 - 10 seconds, and then it slowly faded out.

• M 5.2 strong shallow aftershocks (@ 12 km depth) in Negros - Cebu Region, Philippines (click if you felt) with epicenter located 54 km W of Cebu, Cebu, Philippines. As Phivolcs has already warned residents near the epicenter that there could be more quakes (aftershocks) in the next few weeks. • M 2.7 weak shallow earthquake in Southern California (@ 0.3 km depth) with epicenter local 18 km WNW from Mt. Baldy, CA. Weak shaking will have felt in Wrightwood, Glendora, Pomona and Los Angeles Civic Center, Southern California

• Philippines/Mt. Canlaon Recent Volcanic activity
  -Special watch for Mt. Canlaon for possible eruption after M 6.9 earthquake hit Philippines
  
• Cleveland Recent Volcanic Activity
  -Color Code ORANGE : Alert Level WATCH
  -There was no evidence of ash emissions or elevated surface temperatures in partly cloudy satellite images over the past day
  -There is no real-time seismic monitoring network on Mount Cleveland

Recent Flood Update

• Heavy rainfall has caused flash flooding in Port Macquarie and Taree. A woman was rescued today. Several northern NSW towns are also  preparing to be isolated by floodwaters from Queensland in the coming weeks

Recent Cyclones

• Tropical cyclone JASMINE-12 active in Vanuatu with wind speed 165 km/hr. It has became  category four cyclone. Cyclone Jasmine formed over Cairns in Australia and is now racing eastward toward Vanuatu. Tonga's government has declared a storm warning for another coming Cyclone Cyril. The islands of Ha'apai, Vava'u and the Niuatoputapu group are on alert. Cyril is around 20 kilometers of the tourist island of Vava'u

• The only international airport in Nepal, Tribhuwan international Airport, was shut temporary after a grass fire. It was the time when Fly Dubai Airways was going to land but it hold in the sky for half an hour. The situation was immediately controlled within an hour
