  • M 6.5 very strong shallow (@ 10 km depth) but harmless Sea quake in  Shetland Islands with epicenter located 464 km W from Coronation Island, South Orkney Islands and 844 km of Bahia Thetis, Antartida e Islas del Atlantico Sur, Territorio Nacional de la Tierra del Fuego. Looking the past activities, there were no earthquakes with significant population exposure to shaking within a 400 km radius of this event. Following Pacific Tsunami warning Center, A DESTRUCTIVE WIDESPREAD TSUNAMI THREAT DOES NOT EXIST BASED ON HISTORICAL EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI DATA

    M 6.2 another strong shallow but harmless Sea quake in
    South Shetland Islands (antarctic Elephant Island) after 45 minutes.The earthquake stuck in the Antarctica Province (population: -0.1 million) in Antarctica. GDACS estimates the likelihood for need of international humanitarian intervention to be low (Green alert). More aftershocks can stuck in the region
  • M 4.2 earthquake in Offshore Tarapaca, Chile with epicenter located 43 km WSW of Iquique, Tarapaca, Chile where weak shaking with MMI II will have felt

  • M 4.6 earthquake in Oaxaca, Mexico (@ 62 km depth) with epicenter located 43 km NW Panixtlahuaca. Weak shaking will have felt as far as Oaxaca, Mexico.

  • M 3.3 weak shallow (@ 8 km depth) earthquake in Chojnów, Poland with epicenter 23 km W Legnica, Poland. It will have well felt in Jadwish, Osetnica, Krzywa, Okmiany, Chojnów and Legnica region
    08:15 UTC (local timne 09:15; 2012/1/15 @ epicenter) 
  • M 3.1 weak very shallow (@ 1 km depth) earthquake in Algeria (Avenue des 40 Martyrs) today with epicenter just below As-saniyah (En Nedjma). The populated area Wahran of Northern Algeria is just 6 km far from the epicenter. It will have well felt by the people of Wahran and As-saniyah region.   • M 4.7 moderate shallow (@ 17 km depth) sea quake in Sea of Okhotsk. It will have faintly felt by the people of Magadan, Russia

  • M 3.2 weak very shallow (@ 2 km depth) earthquake in Baja California, Mexico. The epicenter is just 31 km SW from El Centro. Weak shaking will have felt in Seeley, Ocotillo, Heber and El Centro region of California
