  • M 5.0 very shallow moderate earthquake in Qa'emshahr (Shir Dar Kola), Iran (@ 10 km depth). People of Qa'emshahr and Amir Kala region of Northern Iran will have felt moderate shaking of MMI IV. Qa'emshahr is the nearest populated area where well shaking will have felt.The earthquake epicenter is just 15 km SW Qa'emshahr, Iran. Sari Dasht E Naz Airport of Iran lies just 30 km far and Damavand Volcano lies 46 km far from the epicenter. USGS hasn't mentioned about this earthquake (till 17:54 UTC) >Did You Feel It!!     M 5.1 @ 20 km depth with epicenter located 45 km SE of Amol and 73 km ESE of Sari, Iran. Mohammad from
    Qa'emshahr has sent mail using the contact form written as " it was well felt here in Qa'emshahr, heard some ran out too!!"

Recent Tsunami Alerts
  • Indonesia has cancelled Tsunami Alert which was issued after M 7.3 very strong earthquake in Aceh Province. Following Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre, NO MAJOR TSUNAMI but "very small possibility of a local tsunami that could affect coasts located usually no more than a hundred kilometres from the earthquake epicentre" contrast to Indonesian seismological center but remember, Indonesia’s meteorological and geophysics agency routinely issues tsunami warnings for earthquakes measuring more than magnitude 7, which may be the case here too.
    GDACS has updated as, it is likely that a tsunami was generated. The maximum tsunami wave height near the coast of Lambaro will be 0.12m

    A giant quake off the country on Boxing Day in 2004 triggered a tsunami in the Indian Ocean that killed 230,000 people, half of them in Aceh (Category under "Natural Disasters in Indonesia")
  • Death toll by March 11, 2011 Japan Tsunami is at 19,294. In addition, the situation of 3,450 people are yet to be confirmed, which are  believed to have been washed out to sea, the police said tuesday
