• M 4.6 moderate Sea quake (@ 33 km depth) in Bio-Bio, Chile with epicenter located 49 km WSW of Concepcion, Bio-Bio, Chile. It will be faintly felt in Coronel  and Talcahuano region

• M 4.1 moderate shallow (@ 18 km depth) harmless sea quake in Channel Islands Region, California. It will be faintly felt in Torrance, Inglewood, South Gate, Compton, Carson Santa Monica, Hawthorne, Lynwood, Redondo Beach, Huntington Park and Gardena region.

• M 3.2 very shallow earthquake in Oklahoma (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 30 km NE of Shawnee, Oklahoma. It will be well felt by the people of Prague, Paden, Meeker and Shawnee (@ Recent Oklahoma Earthquakes)

• M 4.5 moderate earthquake (@ 44 km depth) in unpopulated area of Southern Xinjiang, China. The populated area Kashi is 116 km far from the epicenter where it will be faintly felt.

• M 3.8 weak shallow earthquake in North Western Iran (@ 2 km depth) with epicenter located 19 km SE Meshkinshahr. The populated area of Ardabil is 45 km far from the epicenter where it will be faintly felt

  -Looking past 24 hrs, Kilauea activity levels remained stable
  -seismic tremor levels low and gas emissions elevated

  -Alert level lowered from Orange to Yellow for Cleveland Volcano
  -No activity detected from some days

Recent Flood Update

• Flooding in States of Songkhla, Thailand (UPDATED 1/3/2012)
  -The districts flooded in Songkhla are Muang, Sadao, Chana, Hat Yai, Nathawee, Na Mom, Saba Yoi and Khlong Hoi Khong
  -In Hat Yai, warning flag changed from Green to Yellow
  -In Surat Thani, 6 districts declared disaster zones
  -Phatthalung Hospital is flooded
  -Due to poor weather, all flights suspended in Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport

Recent Landslides

• Landslide in Belo Horizonte, Brazil
  -One person killed and other seriously injured due mudslide in Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte
  -Dozens of people evacuated
  -A state of emergency has been declared in 44 cities in Minas Gerais due to the torrential rains

Recent Cyclones

• BENILDE-12 with current wind speed 36 m/s is active in Indian Ocean. GREEN ALERT

Other Disasters

• Fire in Chile's Torres del Paine national park in Patagonia (UPDATED 1/3/2012)
  -Wildfire is now under control which already has burned 30,000 acres of a national park in Patagonia (see the video aside of wildfire in Chilean Park)
  -1 person died, more than 100 homes destroyed
  -Red alerts declared for the regions of Magallanes, Bio Bio and Maule
  -Northern section of the park will be opened next week
• Snow Storm in Cleveland, State of Ohio
  -Still 8 to 10 inches of snow around northeast Ohio
  -Many schools close in Portage County
  -Winter Storm warning still in effect until 4 pm EST this afternoon
  
• Avalanche in Pemberton area, Canada (UPDATED 1/3/2012)
  -3 skiers died
  -Skiers died in Steep Creek region near Pemberton and Sunshine Mountain near Bralorne
