Recent Earthquakes

•  Magnitude 4.6 very shallow earthquake (@ 1.5 km depth) in Eastern turkey with epicenter located 26 Km W of Van, Turkey. It is the aftershocks of earlier M 7.2 very dangerous Turkey earthquake which killed 600+ people this October

  UPDATE 1:Another aftershocks is gain recorded 15 minutes after the first one of magnitude 4.7 @ 8.3 km depth.

• Magnitude 4.6 Moderate Earthquake(@8 km depth) in Azore, Portugal with epicenter 230 km NW Angra (pop 12,04). Very far from the populated area. 1738 km NW San cristobal de la laguna (pop 139,928).

• Recent Oklahoma Earthquakes
• Magnitude 6.6 Strong Earthquake (@ 19.4 km depth) in Molucca Sea with epicenter 192 km S Ternate, Moluccas, Indonesia (pop 101,731). The epicenter is surrounded by water. People of Ternate experienced a light shaking.
  NO TSUNAMI ALERT.
  However earthquake with such high magnitude may generate local Tsunami.Disaster Note: A giant quake off the country on Dec. 26, 2004, triggered a tsunami in the Indian Ocean that killed 230,000 people, half of them in Indonesia's westernmost province of Aceh.

• Sean-11 with active storm having current maximum sustained wind speed 17 m/s. Green Alert for Bermuda.
  Disaster Note: Tropical storm Sean 11 has affected 66 thousand people with winds above 39mph.In addition, few people are living in coastal areas below 5m and can therefore be affected by storm surge.

Recent Volcanoes 

• Volcanic Eruption On Hierro Canary Islands located in Spain. During 2-8 November, 364 seismic events were recorded at depths of 16-23 km. During 4-5 November authorities evacuated about 80 residents from areas in Frontera due to landslide risks. Hierro contains the greatest concentration of young vents in the Canary Islands.

  UPDATE: Canary Islands Volcano is releasing toxic gases in the air around the island.The volcano is currently shooting magma 65 feet into the air.M 3.2 minor earthquake (@ 20 km depth) recorded in Canary island, Spain region today with epicenter 98 km S Los llanos de aridane (pop 19,635)
